Krystofer PT is a digital content creator with a compelling creative edge. Having journeyed from punk rock musician to corporate brand executive and most recently, artist and author, he is currently taking off on the classic expressionist genre to forge a new 21st century, digitally-informed, Neo-Expressionist class of creation.
Classic expressionism has long been characterized by seven primary qualities: distorted forms and exaggerated lines, strong emotional impact, intense, non-naturalistic colors, bold, dynamic styling, highly texturized surfaces, individualistic exploration of existentialist themes and an aversion to autocratic dictates.
Krystofer’s unique triangulation of those qualities is expressed in his latest project, DollFace, a series of facial photographs extracting and exposing the wildly beguiling essence of dolls with attitude. Accompanying this work are three adjacent series: FactoryMade, re-envisioning mechanical artifacts of the industrial age, StreetWise, serving up slices of abstracted graffiti from around the globe and StrangerNature, a carnival fiesta of unnatural vistas.
Over decades, Krystofer has created an extensive body of visual, fictional and editorial content appearing everywhere from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Black Mountain Press to brand identity campaigns for some of the world’s leading tech, entertainment and heavy industrial businesses.
Most recently, he has created “Collect Creatively,” an original brand identity campaign for a San Francisco Bay Area gallery in which a number of his pieces are hung.
